How Slabjacking Works Concrete Jack's skilled technicians are experts at slabjacking, a process that has been around since the 1930's, and which works by injecting grout material under sunken or unsupported concrete to raise it back to its original levels. After being injected, the grout dries out and hardens to permanently support the affected areas. Concrete Jack doesn't just raise and level interior floors; our technicians have successfully raised acres of concrete ranging from kitchen and garage floors to sidewalks and pool decks.
Concrete Jack's slab jacking process is safe to use in all types of environments. It has been used to raise floors inside of basements, garages and kitchens and was even used to raise the floor inside a dining room at a retirement facility, while the residents were eating their meals!
The diagrams below show how the slabjacking process works. When holes are drilled through the floor, which is the most common way of accessing the space under the floor. In floors close to ground level that have settled along exterior walls, Concrete Jack can inject grout through holes drilled in the wall, which can eliminate the need to do any work at all inside. Concrete Jack is the only company in Virginia that performs this type of work.
Concrete Jack's leveling technicians drill strategically-placed holes through the settled concrete.
Concrete Jack's custom grout mix is pumped through the holes to fill any voids under the concrete and raise it back up.
Concrete Jack's technicians patch the injection holes.
The slabjacking process which Concrete Jack uses is also known as mudjacking, concrete leveling, concrete raising and pressure grouting. Whatever you call it, slab jacking is the least invasive way to level uneven concrete floors and structures. Most repairs take just one day, and areas are almost always available for immediate use!
