Ground Level Floors

Settlement under interior floors is a relatively common problem.  Because of carpet, tile and other floor coverings that are often on top of interior concrete floors, it is often tough to discover settlement when it is still minor.  The diagrams below show how Concrete Jack's special process for filling under and raising interior floors by using needles inserted through the exterior walls.  This is a great process than can save you thousands of dollars.  Sometimes, however, drilling through the floor is necessary, but this is still incredibly less disruptive (and expensive) than tearing out and replacing your entire concrete floor!

When your house was built, the area under your floor was filled with material to establish a proper subgrade for the concrete installation.  Often, this material is not compacted thoroughly.

Over time, the fill material that was placed under the floor settles, creating an air space (void) under the floor.

The floor fatigues over time, and drops.  Most newer homes tend to settle around the outside edges, most older homes settle in the middle.

To raise and support most interior floors, Concrete Jack drills holes through the exterior walls and inserts injection needles into the area below the floor (1).  Grout (2) is pumped into the area under the floor to displace the original soil, which compacts it and forces it to reoccupy the air void (3) under the floor.

As Concrete Jack pumps material into the subsoil below the floor, it compacts and displaces the soil back into the void below the floor, which raises and supports the floor back to its original level.
